FLOYD K. HELMICK
Floyd has been a senior consultant at Con-Tech for twenty-one of the thirty years Con-Tech has been in business. During his first five years with the firm, Floyd was a primary member of the consulting team, in which he provided systems planning for security and surveillance systems, MATV systems and telephone and data cabling. Floyd relocated to Virginia, where, under the aegis of Telecom Consultants Group, Inc. (TCG) he worked as a telecommunications consultant for three years in analysis, planning, specification and installation of telecommunications networks for various clients including government, financial, medical, and hotel/casino/convention center organizations.
Under both Con-Tech and TCG, Floyd provided telecommunications and data planning for Sovran Bank (now Bank of America) in several of their facilities, including the data centers in Richmond and Norfolk, Virginia and the Northern Virginia and D.C. metropolitan area.
His background includes a demonstrated capability in the design and installation of Premise Distribution Wiring System, PBX Systems, Outbound Call Management Systems, cluster controllers, T-1/Multiplexer backbone networks, various processors to support ACD environments, and communications wiring supporting front end processors and Local Area Networks.
Floyd also has an extensive background in CATV and MATV. He has been directly involved with all aspects of planning, development and implementation.
Floyd, now President and stockholder of M.S.H., Inc., has led Con-Tech Consultants' team of professionals since early 1993. He has planned and managed the following projects:
Opryland Texas - project manager responsible for the planning of telephone and data cabling, surveillance and security systems and MATV system cabling. Oversaw the production of project drawings and prepared project specifications for the competitive bidding of the systems by specialty contractors.
Harrah's Casinos - project manager responsible for the planning of telephone and data cabling, background music and paging system, surveillance and security systems and MATV system. Prepared system specifications, reviewed bids, and oversaw system installation. Projects include Harrah's Vicksburg, Harrah's Tunica, Harrah's North Kansas City, Harrah's Shreveport, Harrah’s Cherokee, Harrah’s Prairie Band, Harrah’s Skagit Valley, Riverport Casinos in St. Louis, and Harrah's New Orleans, among others.
Paris Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, NV - planned telephone and data cabling system for the new Hilton-owned casino and 3,000 room hotel. Tasks included the prepared bid documents and overseeing the system installation.
Hawaii Convention Center, Honolulu, HI – planned telephone and data cabling system and the security/surveillance system for the new center. Tasks included the preparation of bid documents and overseeing the installation.
International Projects - Floyd has provided communications systems planning for a number of clients worldwide, including projects in the countries of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Brunei, Greece, and Mexico.
Prior to joining Con-Tech, Floyd spent six years as systems manager for General Electric Cablevision. His responsibilities during this assignment ranged from systems administration to customer service and public relations. It included frequent presentations at public hearings, and to government agencies. Floyd organized and supervised construction and maintenance of entire CATV systems. These extensive responsibilities included final approval of all technical planning and systems operation. |
